Job summary

Foresters Financial Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Underwriter for the US remote office.

The role assesses life insurance applications by evaluating health, financials, lifestyle and other risk factors to determine rate classes while maintaining service levels and accurate mortality outcomes. The Senior Underwriter will collaborate with New Business, Actuarial, Claims and Distribution, order tests, and document decisions while leveraging regulatory knowledge and Foresters policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of underwriting experience.
• Strong medical and financial underwriting knowledge.
• Knowledge of US underwriting legislation and Foresters policies.

Responsibilities

• Review insurance applications for new business, reinstatements, and changes.
• Communicate underwriting decisions to producers and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Order required medical tests and arrange assessments as needed.
• Perform full underwriting assessment considering income vs risk and regulatory requirements.
• Consult with Chief Underwriter on complex issues; finalize decisions within approval limits.
• Maintain underwriting files and documentation in systems.
