Job summary

Cannon Building is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Engineer to lead complex life-science construction projects in the San Diego region. You will manage timelines, budgets, and quality while mentoring staff and coordinating with owners, architects, and subcontractors.

The role requires deep technical knowledge of GMP/GLP environments, strong regulatory compliance, and advanced BIM usage to identify risks early in design and construction.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree/Bachelor of Science Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Life Science.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Procore, MS Project and BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks).
• Extensive project management experience in life science/healthcare or related industries.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and manage project submittals and schedules to align with overall project construction.
• Prepare, monitor, and update the project schedule, coordinating with the Superintendent’s schedules and documenting delays.
• Participate in end-of-month financial reviews, assessing the budget and reporting the project’s completion status.
• Verify owner/client and subcontractor billings, managing accounts receivable.
• Organize and lead project meetings, prepare minutes and ensure obligations are fulfilled.
