Job summary

Eden Vista Prospect Heights, part of Vista Senior Living Management, is seeking an Activity Director to enrich the lives of our residents. The role focuses on planning and directing life enrichment activities with a compassionate approach, including involvement with memory care programs.

The ideal candidate collaborates with staff, manages volunteers, and ensures a vibrant schedule that supports residents across activity levels and cognitive needs. Evening and weekend rotations may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in memory care and as an Activity Director strongly preferred.
• Experience working with residents with dementia preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong creativity, organization, and follow-through skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists with planning a comprehensive program that includes individual and group activities that meet the needs and interests of the residents.
• Plans and directs activities and escorts residents to and from activities as needed.
• Supervises volunteers helping with in-house activities and on community outings.
• Provides one-to-one activities for residents who are not participating in group activities.
• Maintains quality daily attendance/ behavioral records.
• Posts monthly program calendars and maintains communication with all departments.
• Attends and participates in Therapeutic Recreation Department staff meetings and trainings.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
