Kenton Nursing & Rehab Center in Kenton, OH is seeking an Activity Director to plan and direct a diversified activities program that stimulates residents both mentally and physically and fosters a vibrant social atmosphere. You will supervise staff, collaborate with community resources, and ensure activities meet the needs of the aged, ill, and disabled, while maintaining health assessments as required.

Qualifications

Experience planning and directing activities programs in a health care setting.
Ability to supervise staff and coordinate activities.
Knowledge of activities suitable for aged, ill, and disabled residents.
Must meet health assessment requirements including Mantoux tests.
Must communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
Must be at least 18 years old

Responsibilities

Plan and direct a program of diversified activities for residents, including arts and crafts, games, and social events.
Develop and implement activities that cater to the special needs of the aged, ill, and/or disabled.
Supervise and instruct staff on the functions and techniques of the Activity program.
Explore and utilize available community resources applicable to residential health care facility programs.
Meet health assessment requirements, including Mantoux skin tests and one-step annually thereafter.
Demonstrate good knowledge of activities program direction and supervision.
Possess knowledge of the organization and the techniques of a diversified program of meaningful leisure time activities in a residential health care facility.
