As an Activity Director, you will play a vital role in planning and directing a diverse program of activities that stimulate the minds and bodies of our residents.
As an Activity Director at Kenton Nursing & Rehab Center, you will be responsible for planning and directing a program of diversified activities for our residents. Your goal will be to provide mental and physical stimulation, as well as create an invigorating social atmosphere for our residents. Plan and direct a program of diversified activities for residents, including arts and crafts, games, and social events
Develop and implement activities that cater to the special needs of the aged, ill, and/or disabled
Supervise and instruct staff on the functions and techniques of the Activity program
Explore and utilize available community resources applicable to residential health care facility programs
Meet health assessment requirements, including two-stage Mantoux skin tests and one-step annually thereafter
Demonstrate good knowledge of activities program direction and supervision
Possess good knowledge of the organization and the techniques of a diversified program of meaningful, appropriate leisure time activities in a residential health care facility

Professional Qualifications: (a) Is a qualified occupational therapist, therapeutic specialist, occupational therapy assistant, and recreational generalist; or (b) Has a minimum of two years full-time or equivalent part-time paid work experience in a health care setting
Demonstrates good knowledge of activities program direction and supervision
Possesses knowledge of the special needs of the aged, ill, and/or disabled, as it relates to program development
Is able to instruct and supervise others in the functions and techniques of the Activity program
Must meet health assessment requirements, including two-stage Mantoux skin tests and one-step annually thereafter
Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations
Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
Must be at least 18 years of age
