Job summary

Primrose Retirement Communities is hiring a Life Enrichment Assistant to plan and execute recreation programs that meet the social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs of residents.

The role requires encouraging participation, coordinating events, organizing outings, decorating for occasions, recruiting volunteers, and distributing monthly schedules to residents. A high school diploma and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Activity Certification is preferred.
• Minimum of one year working with senior population preferred but will consider previous experiences.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) in English, organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to speak effectively to groups of residents, associates of organizations or outside professionals.
• Basic typing skills, along with basic knowledge of computer Microsoft Software (Publisher, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Able to drive residents to outside activities in Primrose Van.
• Enjoys working with and building rapport with seniors.

Responsibilities

• Execute a creative and exciting life enrichment program to meet residents' needs and health.
• Encourage resident participation with all activities.
• Coordinate monthly special events at the community.
• Assist with organizing outings within the local city or town.
• Decorate the facility for special occasions and events.
• Find volunteers and maintain the resident volunteer program.
• Distribute monthly life enrichment schedules to residents and post them for easy reference.
• Acknowledge residents’ birthdays, anniversaries, and special accomplishments.
