Job summary

Franciscan Ministries is seeking an Activities Assistant within the Life Enrichment department to enhance quality of life for residents. The role advocates engagement, plans recreational and therapeutic activities, and supports administrative tasks to ensure smooth operation and compliance.

The ideal candidate will have up to 1 year of experience with seniors, strong communication skills, and the ability to drive community outings following safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Up to 1 year experience with seniors preferred; 1+ years of senior activity engagement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for a culture of engagement across the community.
• Encourage residents to participate in daily activities and events.
• Assist with administrative tasks (copier, faxing, calendars, phones).
• Lead and assist group and one-on-one activities.
• Plan, develop, organize, implement and evaluate activities.
• Escort residents to and from activities/outings.
• Drive the community bus for Life Enrichment outings and appointments with safety procedures.
• Complete documentation for state/federal compliance.
• Utilize LifeLoop and the community Medical Records system.
• Attend care plans, in-services, and resident council meetings.
• Assist with volunteer coordination and upkeep of pet areas.
• Maintain organized, clean engagement spaces and seasonal décor.
• Complete ongoing training via Relias and other required trainings.
• Assist in training new associates.
