Job summary

The Orchards at Niles is hiring a Life Enrichment Assistant to support planning and implementing engaging programs for residents in our skilled nursing facility. This role helps promote the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of residents through meaningful interaction and daily enrichment.

You will assist in developing, organizing, and leading activities, encourage participation, and help transport residents to activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a senior care, recreation, or customer service setting preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with older adults.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, organizing, and leading group and individual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
• Encourage resident participation and provide companionship during programs.
• Help transport residents to and from activities.
• Document resident participation and provide feedback to the Life Enrichment Director.
• Support special events, outings, and holiday celebrations.
• Comply with all health, safety, and infection control policies.
