Job summary

The Orchards is seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant to support planning and implementing engaging programs for residents in our skilled nursing facility. This role promotes physical, mental, and emotional well‑being through meaningful interaction and daily enrichment.

Responsibilities include developing activities, encouraging participation, transporting residents to activities, and assisting with events while adhering to health and safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a senior care, recreation, or customer service setting preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with older adults.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, organizing, and leading group and individual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities
• Encourage resident participation and provide companionship during programs
• Help transport residents to and from activities
• Document resident participation and provide feedback to the Life Enrichment Director
• Support special events, outings, and holiday celebrations
• Comply with all health, safety, and infection control policies
