Job summary

Harris Computer is seeking a Senior Proposal Writer to lead the development of compelling, compliant library technology proposals (ILS/LSP, discovery, digital resource management) for academic, public, and consortia libraries. You will translate complex product capabilities into library outcomes and collaborate with Sales, Product, and Support teams to craft winning responses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Library Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5–10+ years of proposal writing experience, preferably in library technology, EdTech, or SaaS for public/education.
• Strong understanding of library operations, metadata standards, and cloud-based enterprise software.
• Experience responding to formal RFPs for public or academic institutions.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end proposal development for ILS/LSP procurements.
• Ensure compliance with library procurement requirements and pricing structures.
• Develop strategic messaging and win themes.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and library SMEs to ensure accuracy.
• Manage content library and proposal templates.
• Mentor junior writers.
• Track proposal success metrics.
