Job summary

The Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) – State of Delaware seeks a Senior Librarian to support access to information, technology, and instructional materials for visually impaired students across Delaware. You will apply professional library practices, train users, supervise staff or volunteers, and help develop programs and policies.

Required: a Bachelor's degree or higher in Library and Information Science or related field, plus at least six months' experience coordinating library

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Library and Information Science, English, Education, Computer Science or related field.
• Six months experience in organizing and coordinating library services and programs.
• Six months experience in assisting users in navigating information sources and providing reference or information desk services.

Responsibilities

• Applies standard library practices such as acquisitions, cataloging, processing, and circulating library resources.
• Researches and disseminates information to meet the needs of library customers.
• Supervises subordinates or volunteers in clerical library functions.
• Develops, recommends, and implements library policies and procedures.
• Supports compliance with state and federal laws and contributes to statewide library services.
