Job summary

Escape Velocity Entertainment is seeking a Senior Level Designer to join our fully remote team in pursuit of bold, ground-breaking worlds. You will own the design and construction of spaces that support core game mechanics, combat and movement, while guiding teammates and mentoring junior staff.

The role emphasizes collaboration, rapid iteration, and a deep understanding of why players choose paths through designed environments, with a portfolio to prove shipped or playable results.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Level Design experience.
• Portfolio of shipped or playable levels demonstrating craft.
• Experience with UE5 and/or Unity.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross discipline teams to plan and create level content.
• Present and pitch ideas to internal teams.
• Design and develop maps, arenas, objectives and combat spaces from concept to final blockout.
• Iterate rapidly based on playtest data and team feedback.
• Playtest in-progress work of others and provide feedback to the team.
• Collaborate with Mechanics and AI Designers and Engineers to create unique gameplay mechanics and improve tools.
• Work with Environment Artists to transition gameplay blockouts into polished environments.
