Job summary

Tyson & Mendes in Novato, CA, seeks a Senior Counsel with Lemon Law and consumer litigation experience to lead matters across Northern California. You will own case strategy, oversee discovery, take depositions, and work directly with clients in a collaborative, meritocratic environment.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years of litigation, CA bar, and a track record handling Lemon Law defense or automotive warranty matters, with readiness to grow as a trial lawyer.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA approved law school.
• Must be licensed in the State of California.
• 8+ years of solid litigation experience, including discovery and trial preparation.
• 5+ years handling Lemon Law defense matters.
• 2+ years CRLA, tenant advocacy, or housing litigation experience.
• 2+ years General Liability defense experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to think and act independently with minimal supervision.
• Outstanding listening, verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.

• Develop a case theme more compelling than any plaintiff ploy for sympathy or anger.
• Refuse to accept mediocrity, the average, the standard or the norm in anything.
• Independently handle court appearances, depositions, briefs and trials.
• Work as part of a team with all levels of experiences.

• Cultivate relationships with the firm’s existing and future clients.
• Provide leadership and direction with respect to less experienced attorneys.
