Job summary

Thomson Reuters' Practical Law team in the United States seeks a Senior Specialist Legal Editor with deep startup capital markets experience to create and maintain practical know-how content and help shape AI-powered solutions.

You will work with an editorial team, leverage AI tools, mentor contributors, and partner with product management to deliver accurate, market-aligned content for startups and in-house teams, while advancing legal practice at scale.

Qualifications

• JD required.
• Minimum of eight (8) years' experience as a lawyer with startups.
• Strong technical skills and ability to use AI tools to enhance productivity and accuracy.
• Adaptable to diverse projects within the generative AI space and new technologies.
• Curious about AI's intersection with legal practice and prompt engineering.
• Understand US startup legal issues and the needs of law firms and in-house teams.
• Excellent writing skills to convey complex legal topics clearly.
• Innovative, agile thinker with strong time management and project skills.

Responsibilities

• Research, draft, and maintain clear startup-focused legal know-how content for Practical Law and TR products.
• Monitor developments in law and market practice to keep content relevant and accurate.
• Support AI-powered tools development and integration in editorial processes.
• Partner with Product Management to innovate tech development and AI integration.
• Use legal expertise to support internal AI editorial tools.
• Cultivate relationships with external law firm contributors and industry groups.
• Support sales, marketing, and other teams by responding to inquiries.
