Job summary

Obsidian is seeking experienced legal reviewers to create rubrics and perform quality control on large volumes of processed legal documents. This role focuses on review and verification, not drafting or advisory, across commercial contracts, HR records, IP agreements, regulatory filings, and more.

You will develop clear rubrics, verify documents against the QC standards, and flag defects or ambiguous cases for adjudication.

Qualifications

• US-based, qualified lawyer with 3+ years’ post-qualification experience.
• Comfort moving across many document types.
• Experience in managed document review, e-discovery, contract management, or data privacy is a strong advantage.
• Demonstrable precision and consistency on high-volume review work.
• Able to follow a written protocol closely, and to improve it.

Responsibilities

• Create rubrics to grade legal documents against that can be understood and applied by a layman.
• Review processed legal documents against a written QC rubric, checking that every identifying and sensitive element has been correctly handled.
• Flag and categorise defects, and flag ambiguous cases for adjudication.
