Job summary

Hitachi Energy currently seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to support its North American operations, offering legal guidance across commercial, risk, compliance and governance matters. You will draft and negotiate complex agreements, manage disputes and outside counsel, and ensure regulatory compliance in a dynamic, multicultural environment.

You will collaborate with business leaders and legal colleagues across regions to develop pragmatic strategies that protect the company while enabling growth.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the United States.
• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school with NC Bar or another State Bar admission.
• Experience advising on product liability and commercial litigation; global matters preferred.
• Sound judgment and ability to assess risk and provide practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice to management across a broad range of matters and manage disputes as needed.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements across multiple units.
• Participate in risk reviews and support risk management activities.
• Identify emerging legal issues and develop practical strategies to support business priorities.
• Support corporate governance and integrity initiatives; coordinate with outside counsel.
• Deliver legal training and ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies.
• Monitor laws and regulations to protect business interests and reputation.
