Sunrun is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to lead complex project finance transactions and provide strategic, risk‑informed advice across the energy portfolio. You will act as the in‑house legal expert, structuring, negotiating, and closing high‑value financings including tax equity and securitizations for distributed renewable energy.

The role requires autonomy, strong business judgment, and the ability to collaborate with executive leadership.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar.
• Minimum of 4+ years of dedicated, top‑tier project finance experience.
• Strong focus on renewable energy financing transactions, including portfolio financing structures.
• Proven ability to independently drive complex, high‑value transactions from term sheet to closing.

Responsabilités

• Draft transaction documents and manage closing mechanics for complex project financing transactions (back‑leverage debt, term debt, securitizations, tax equity).
• Provide practical, high‑impact legal advice to non‑lawyer business partners and executives.
• Oversee due diligence, respond to investor questions, and coordinate with outside counsel on multi‑million dollar deals.
