Digital Realty is seeking a Sr. Legal Counsel, Commercial Contracting, to join its global Legal, Risk, Sustainability & Compliance team.

You will lead sophisticated commercial and leasing transactions for North America and the Digital Realty platform, advising cross-functionally to advance commercial objectives while protecting the company’s interests. You will draft and negotiate multi-jurisdictional agreements, support large-scale development and leasing deals, and mentor junior attorneys.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Responsabilités

• Draft, negotiate, and advise on complex, multi-tiered, and multi-jurisdictional agreements with hyperscale and global customers, including MSAs, leases, licenses, service agreements, SLAs, orders, amendments, expansions and renewals.
• Provide legal support for large-scale development and leasing transactions, including projects held through joint ventures and investment funds.
• Serve as a key legal advisor to Global Accounts Sales, owning sophisticated customer transactions and advising on terms, negotiation strategy, customer positioning, and risk.
• Partner with Design, Engineering, Construction, Portfolio Management, Operations, Sales to align obligations with timelines, specs, requirements, readiness, and objectives while mitigating risk.
• Advise on capital improvements, portfolio initiatives, and customer-related matters, including inquiries, audits, escalations, and significant projects.
• Collaborate with the broader global Legal team to ensure regional consistency, evaluate strategy, mitigate risk, and elevate material issues.
• Support executive-level engagements with customers, investors, and joint venture partners by preparing clear legal advice.
• Drive improvements in templates, playbooks, policies, and processes; streamline negotiations and cross-regional projects in contracting, real estate, M&A, or other priorities.
• Manage outside counsel and coordinate with administrative and support professionals to complete projects.
• Supervise, train, and develop Junior Legal Counsel and prioritize workload.
