Base pay range

$180,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr

• Title: Senior Counsel
• Firm: Leading Private Credit Shop
• Location: New York City
• Growth: This role will take on the General Counsel spot within a short time frame of getting hired

Responsibilities:

• Lead fund formation efforts

• Provide day-to-day legal support for funds.

• Review marketing materials to ensure regulatory compliance and assist with SEC registration and compliance programs.

• Draft key documents such as limited partnership agreements, private placement memoranda, subscription agreements, and side letters.

• Oversee admin legal tasks, including regulatory filings (e.g., Form ADV)

• Serve as the internal legal point of contact for compliance, working alongside an external compliance consulting firm

Qualifications:

• JD with 5–8+ years of relevant legal experience

• Background in fund formation; familiarity with compliance preferred

• Resourceful, “wear-many-hats” mindset; thrives in lean teams

• Interest in transitioning to an in-house role with long-term growth potential
