Job summary

K&L Gates is seeking a Senior Client Billing Specialist to support end-to-end billing across multiple offices, including Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Harrisburg, and Chicago. The role emphasizes accuracy, adherence to client and firm guidelines, and leadership in guiding junior team members.

The ideal candidate manages complex billing, validates rates and AFAs, and ensures compliant e-billing submissions while maintaining client confidentiality and delivering high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or equivalent legal/ebilling experience.
• Understanding of financial regulations and compliance.
• Commitment to excellent client service and high-quality work product.
• Maintain confidentiality of firm and client information.
• Ability to guide junior team members per processes.
• Self-motivated with strong work ethic and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily billing activities supporting attorneys, staff and clients.
• Verify and setup matters in the accounting system (rates, AFAs, notes).
• Review unbilled time and costs; reconcile invoices and update spreadsheets.
• Manage e-billing submissions, updates, rejections and approvals.
• Oversee timekeeper approvals and vendor invoice entries.
• Conduct monthly audits and assist with internal/external audits.
• Address billing inquiries and support collections efforts.
