Role Description

The Senior LED Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Alexandria, VA, responsible for leading the deployment, operation, and maintenance of LED video wall and display systems for events of varying size and complexity. This role includes planning LED system configurations, preparing equipment, and coordinating with project managers and clients to understand event requirements and deliver appropriate technical solutions. The Senior LED Engineer will install, rig, and align LED displays; manage signal routing and processing; perform testing and troubleshooting; and ensure optimal image quality and reliability throughout each event. Day-to-day tasks also involve supervising junior technicians, enforcing safety standards, maintaining inventory and equipment logs, and collaborating with the broader audio-visual team to integrate LED systems with sound, lighting, and presentation technologies. The person in this role is expected to provide on-site technical support during events, respond quickly to issues, and contribute to continuous improvement of LED workflows and best practices.



Qualifications


  • Strong expertise in LED video wall systems, including configuration, installation, alignment, and troubleshooting of panels, processors, and controllers.

  • Proficiency with video signal flow, routing, and processing (HDMI/SDI, scalers, switchers, and related video hardware) in live event environments.

  • Hands-on experience working with audio-visual event staging, including coordination with lighting, sound, and projection teams.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, stage plots, and event production documents, and translate them into practical LED setups.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly under time-sensitive, live-event conditions.

  • Demonstrated leadership in supervising and mentoring technicians, delegating tasks, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.

  • Understanding of rigging and mounting practices for LED displays, with a strong commitment to safety protocols and risk management.

  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members, event planners, and clients, and for explaining technical concepts clearly.
