Job summary

Navy Federal Credit Union seeks a Learning Solutions professional to consult with leaders, design and deliver effective training programs, and measure impact across the enterprise. You will lead a team, develop learning strategies, and ensure alignment with organizational strategy.

Responsibilities include needs analysis, content development, and collaboration with Talent Development to drive professional development and upskilling initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in one or more of: program management and evaluation, learning science, communications, instructional design, organizational development and/or training design.
  • Willingness to learn, grow, and apply theory to practice.
  • Experience conducting needs assessment for large-scale learning solutions.
  • Advanced knowledge of measuring ROI on learning solutions.
  • Extensive classroom instruction/facilitation experience.
  • Experience in cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects.
  • Knowledge of instructional theories and educational psychology.
  • Strong communication with leadership levels.
  • Excellent planning and project management skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and vendors.

  • Collaborate with Talent Development and other teams to optimize learning.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and product updates.
  • Manage multiple large-scale, cross-divisional projects.
  • Identify vendor opportunities and partner on shared platforms or content.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Consult and collaborate with business leaders to identify learning needs, gaps and updates or enhancements to existing plans. Conduct needs analysis on strategic requests and recommend the best learning solutions to support business objectives in alignment with Navy Federal's strategy
  • Serve as a lead consultant and resource on professional and talent development learning to either directly or indirectly support and align with enterprise strategy and needs
  • Contribute to the development of learning strategies, tactics and solutions and design, develop, facilitate learning solutions and content for professional development, employee upskilling, etc., using a proven development life cycle to support company-wide and business unit objectives, while considering stakeholder needs and industry standards
  • Design and use quantitative and qualitative methods and metrics to measure, evaluate and analyze the effectiveness of training programs and/or immersive learning plans to ensure objectives are achieved
  • Oversee the development of reference materials, support tools and leader resources that reinforce strategic learning
  • Lead, guide, and mentor team members and partner with the business to achieve desired outcomes, and in support of leaders in setting performance standards and identifying potential skill gaps related to expectations
  • Serve as a lead liaison between the Learning Solutions team and Talent Development team (when appropriate) providing swift and thorough transitions for customers and business partners
  • Remain current with industry learning best practices and technical, product and program enhancements
  • Participate in or manage multiple large-scale and/or cross-divisional/departmental projects and programs
  • Partner with L&T's Vendor Partnership team to identify opportunities to source shared vendor relationships, platforms or content
  • Conduct needs analysis on strategic requests; identify learning gaps and recommend the best learning solutions to support business objectives in alignment with Navy Federal's strategy
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Expertise in one or more of the following: program management and evaluation, learning science, communications, instructional design, organizational development and/or extensive experience designing, developing, and implementing training.
  • Willingness to learn, use a growth mindset and combine theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on application.
  • Expertise in conducting needs assessment and analysis for large scale learning solutions.
  • Advanced knowledge of measuring ROI on learning solutions.
  • Extensive experience in classroom instruction and/or facilitation for individuals or groups.
  • Extensive experience in working and participating in cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects.
  • Expert knowledge of instructional theories, educational psychology, educational theory, tools and resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, adapt quickly and exhibit effective communication skills to all levels of leadership.
  • Demonstrated advanced organizational, planning, and project management skills and knowledge.
  • Demonstrated skill in effectively building relationships with and influencing team members, management, vendors, and a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated skill in compiling, organizing and presenting findings and conclusions clearly and concisely to stakeholders and management.
  • Advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Expert skill communicating with all levels within an organization.
  • Expert skill in building strategic and execution-focused plans and alliances with partner leadership.
  • Advanced skill interacting tactfully and effectively in difficult situations.

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills to include speaking and/or presenting in front of groups in a professional setting.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Human Resources, business, communication, behavioral sciences, Program Management or related field or the equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
