Job summary

Arizona State University is seeking a Learning Scientist Senior to join the Action Lab. You will design and conduct quantitative research on enrollment, persistence, and learner success, applying advanced methods and translating results into practical guidance for institutional decision-making.

You will develop reproducible workflows using R, document findings in Git repositories, and collaborate with analytics, product, and operations teams to improve learner outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience or equivalent in the area.
• Master's or PhD in Learning Sciences, Education, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Psychology or related field.
• Experience conducting applied research in higher education setting.
• Experience with quantitative methodologies and reproducible research.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and execution of applied research studies on enrollment, persistence and learner success.
• Develop rigorous quantitative studies and generate actionable recommendations.
• Build reproducible research workflows using R and Git.
• Translate analyses into clear reports and visuals for diverse audiences.
• Ensure IRB compliance and data governance standards.
• Mentor early career researchers and collaborate across teams.
