Job summary

University of North Texas System seeks a Senior Teaching & Learning Design Specialist to partner with educators across UNT. You will apply deep instructional design and learning science expertise to support faculty, graduate instructors, and staff, guiding complex projects and programmatic initiatives.

You will mentor colleagues, contribute to strategic directions, and lead major workshops while advancing teaching excellence across modalities and disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, curriculum & instruction, professional development or a related field (from Phase).
• Five years of related experience in education or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Provides individualized consultation to educators on course design, pedagogical strategies, learning outcomes, assessment, and growth.
• Leads design and delivery of major faculty development programs with framing, facilitation, and evaluation.
• Supports Communities of Practice focused on course and pedagogical design challenges.
• Guides large-scale course design and curriculum mapping across disciplines and modalities.
• Mentors teaching and learning specialists and graduate assistants on consultative practice.
• Advises on instructional strategies, delivery technologies, and assessment to meet learning objectives.
• Engages with current scholarship in teaching and educator development and represents the unit at conferences.
• Contributes to unit strategic planning and cross-campus collaboration; supports new initiatives.
