Job summary

Stryker Group in Irvine, CA is seeking a Senior Engineer, Continuous Improvement to design lean systems and lead improvement initiatives within our production environment. This onsite role focuses on evaluating value streams and driving top performance through cross-functional teamwork.

You will lead kaizen events, map future states, and monitor lean metrics while partnering with finance to quantify cost reductions. Prior experience in medical devices and Shingijutsu methods are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in Medical Device or a highly regulated industry.
• Certification in Lean manufacturing – preferred.
• Shingijutsumethodology experience or similar – highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead value stream mapping workshops and kaizen events.
• Oversee future state implementation.
• Monitor & improve lean metrics (lead time, changeover time, inventory levels, etc.).
• Evaluate / design and implement process and process flow improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, while maintaining or improving product quality.
• Partner with Finance associates to quantify CI cost reductions.
• Personally execute improvements.
• Coach others in Lean concepts.
• Work closely and collaboratively with members of other teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Identify root causes of issues, determine potential solutions, and evaluate them against requirements.
• Follow the company’s standards for process development, quality and safety.
• Support New Product Introduction and/or Legacy product Ramp-Up plans.
• Contribute to infrastructure configuration to ensure optimal efficiencies.
