Job summary

Generac is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer III to lead the implementation of operational process improvements using the Generac Manufacturing System (GMS) across the value stream in a manufacturing or distribution facility.

You will provide hands-on execution and coaching of lean principles such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, Line/Cell Design, Single Piece Flow, Material Flow, Visual Management, SMED, TPM, Root Cause Problem Solving, etc., and mentor team members

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required.
• 5 years of Continuous Improvement, Lean engineering experience.
• Demonstrated implementation experience in Lean principles is preferred.
• Lean, Operations or Supply Chain certifications are a plus.
• Experience with flow principles, Kanban and plan for every part is beneficial.
• Project leadership experience with diverse teams is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coach and lead the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean principles and the Generac Manufacturing System (GMS).
• Coach others to develop and implement Continuous Improvement solutions to solve complex process issues.
• Develop, document, and implement standard work to provide a basis of continuous improvement.
• Mentor and guide facility team members in Lean principles and tools.
• Participate with the corporate Continuous Improvement team on standards and programs.
• Participate in facility strategic plans and initiatives.
• Facilitate sharing of best practices and external benchmarks.
