Job summary

New Pennsylvania Project seeks a Managing Director in Pennsylvania to lead strategic program development, civic engagement, and organizational leadership within NPPEF and NPP. You will oversee voter registration, mobilization, and education programs, manage senior teams, and drive fundraising and external partnerships.

The role reports to the CEO and requires a track record of managing large teams, building cross-organizational initiatives, and advancing diversity and equity in civic work.

Qualifications

• Senior Leadership overseeing multiple Department Directors (e.g., Campaign Manager, Coordinated Manager)
• Experience leading mid-size to large organizations with 50+ staff
• Knowledge of governance and fundraising in nonprofit sector
• Proficiency with CRM tools and Google Suite

Responsibilities

• Strategic Program Development: develop and implement voter registration and civic engagement initiatives; engage partners and lawmakers in voting rights legislation; ensure programmatic excellence and data controls; plan timelines and resources; track scaling progress and report to boards and funders.
• Staff and Organizational Leadership: manage senior leadership, oversee onboarding, mediate staff disputes, energize volunteers and funders, represent organizations at tables, prepare board reports.
• Fundraising and Development: assist with grant narratives and reporting; leverage relationships to build new funding opportunities.
• Strategic Communications: collaborate with CEO to design and refine communications strategy and narrative.
