Job summary

The National Employment Law Project (NELP) seeks a driven Director of Philanthropic Engagement to lead fundraising strategy and help drive more than $10 million in annual revenue. This full-time role will be based in Washington, D.C.

or New York City, reporting to the Executive Director and guiding a development team. You will build donor relationships, supervise staff, and align fundraising with racial equity goals while partnering with communications and program teams to raise visibility and

Qualifications

• At least 10 years advancing racial equity, workers’ rights, or economic justice.
• Substantive experience in fundraising initiatives and grant reporting.
• Strong leadership, budgeting, forecasting, and donor relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Strategize and coordinate fundraising initiatives and staff engagement.
• Cultivate funder relationships and develop proposals and reporting.
• Develop and monitor the fundraising plan with forecasting and budgets.
• Collaborate with leadership to advance anti-racist organizational goals.
• Coach staff and foster professional growth within the team.
• Coordinate with communications and program staff on donor communications.
