Job summary

Gems Setra, a leading sensing technology provider, seeks an Advanced Product Development Leader to guide a multidisciplinary engineering team and partner with Product Management to align market opportunities with technical readiness.

You will drive upstream execution, coach engineers, and shape technology roadmaps, ensuring robust handoffs to Product Realization through disciplined, scalable development practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in product development.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and transitioning to people leadership.
• Strong engineering foundation across multidisciplinary development.
• Experience taking concepts through execution and handoff to realization.
• Collaborative with Product Management and downstream teams.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead product development from ideation through concept design freeze for handoff to Realization.
• Build and lead a high‑performing engineering team and develop technical capability.
• Advance technology roadmaps by identifying portfolio gaps and shaping paths to close them.
• Partner with Product Management to align market needs with technical readiness.
• Drive disciplined product development execution with standard work and tools.
• Engage in design reviews and trade‑off decisions to unblock teams.
• Ensure smooth transition to Product Realization with clear definitions.
• Identify common themes across projects to improve reuse and scalability.
• Collaborate with PMO to align plans, resources, and expectations.
• Engage with customers, universities, and external technologies to inform roadmap.
