Job summary

Forsyth County, Georgia seeks a lead prosecutor for the trial team assigned to one of two Judges in State Court to prosecute misdemeanor traffic cases in arraignments, hearings, jury trials and bench trials.

The role includes supervising staff, managing caseloads, negotiating pleas, and preparing court documents. A Juris Doctorate and active Georgia Bar license with relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university.
• Three years as a member of the Georgia Bar Association.
• Three years' experience in municipal prosecution or related practice.
• Must possess and maintain valid State Bar of Georgia license.

Responsibilities

• Prosecutes misdemeanor traffic cases in arraignments, hearings, trials.
• Supervises and coordinates staff around trial team activities.
• Reviews case records, warrants, reports, statements and evidence.
• Negotiates pleas and prepares written plea recommendations.
• Conducts jury and bench trials; drafts court orders and charges.
