Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Senior Lead of Software Engineering – Payment Data Platform Infrastructure in Jersey City, NJ.

You will join an agile team delivering trusted, scalable technology products for the Commercial and Investment Banking – Data Analytics Payments Team. Responsibilities include deploying ClickHouse clusters, designing AWS infrastructure, and driving automation with IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.

Qualifications

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 8+ years of experience.
Hands-on experience deploying and supporting ClickHouse in production (multi-node clusters).
Strong knowledge of ClickHouse internals and performance levers; distributed query execution.
Experience with Linux systems engineering and troubleshooting.
Expertise in AWS cloud platform (S3, Lambda, EKS, DynamoDB, EventBridge, Kafka, Opensearch) and big data tech (Apache Spark, Glue, Redshift).
Experience with containerization/orchestration and automation (Kubernetes and Terraform).
Stays up-to-date with AWS services and best practices.

Responsibilities

Executes software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting with ability to tackle complex problems.
Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensures design constraints are met.
Deploys and operates ClickHouse clusters across environments (on-prem and/or cloud), including upgrades and disaster recovery.
Designs and implements scalable, secure AWS infrastructure solutions.
Develops and maintains infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
Monitors and optimizes the performance, availability, and scalability of AWS infrastructure.
Implements security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and network security.
Automates infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.
Identifies opportunities for cost optimization and reduces AWS spending.
Develops scripts and tools to enhance operational efficiency.
Stays up-to-date with the latest AWS services and best practices.
