Job summary

PNC is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for its Lending Technology organization, with roles based in Dallas, TX or Pittsburgh, PA. You will own end-to-end features across backend (Java) and frontend (Angular), set architecture standards, and collaborate across DevOps, UX, and product teams.

You will drive automated testing, performance, and security across services, mentor engineers, and participate in design reviews while delivering scalable, production-ready software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 3+ years of software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot and RESTful APIs.
• Proficient in Angular and frontend tooling.
• Experience with microservices and cloud-native patterns.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead technical reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end feature design across backend (Java 21) and frontend (Angular).
• Own architecture decisions for APIs, UI state, security, and performance.
• Promote automated testing with JUnit, Mockito, Jasmine/Karma/Jest.
• Collaborate with DevOps on Docker/Kubernetes deployments and CI/CD.
• Guide sprint planning, technical reviews, and mentoring.
