Job summary

JPMorganChase in the United States is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to own the design and delivery of high-performance, cloud-native services within the Corporate AI/ML Data Platforms group. You will drive architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with data science and platform teams to enable scalable, reliable machine learning infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong Java development skills.
• Experience designing low-latency distributed systems in production.
• Hands-on with AWS services (MSK, SQS, S3, ECS, EKS, Lambda, Kinesis, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift).
• Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Dynatrace or Splunk.
• Proficiency in API design, testing, and production debugging.
• Strong communication of engineering tradeoffs to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience leading AI-assisted software development tools adoption.
• Knowledge of responsible AI practices in engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement low-latency, high-throughput Java Spring Boot services.
• Design cloud-native architectures with high availability requirements (99.9%–99.999%).
• Develop infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Improve observability and monitoring across microservices with Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk.
• Lead design reviews and promote engineering standards for reliability and maintainability.
• Mentor engineers and drive adoption of AI-assisted tooling and governance.
