Job summary

Toyota Financial Services in Plano, TX seeks a Software Engineering Lead to supervise feature-level delivery and guide a small team on dealer and consumer digital platforms. You will balance hands-on coding with technical leadership, ensuring scalable, production-ready services while mentoring engineers and aligning with Toyota's engineering standards.

You will drive architecture decisions, collaborate with Product teams, and help shape our roadmap for next-generation fintech capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of software engineering with ownership of production features.
• Strong Java-based services with modern frameworks.
• Experience with REST, GraphQL, and event-driven APIs.
• Practical AWS experience including ECS, Fargate, serverless components, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Frontend exposure to React/Next.js or Vue for dealer or consumer UI flows.
• Mentor engineers and communicate effectively across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead feature and service development end-to-end from design to production support.
• Design scalable, fault-tolerant services and APIs for dealer/consumer workflows.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance on best practices and code quality.
• Own feature-level architecture for pricing, incentives, or credit workflows.
• Coordinate testing, deployment, and production readiness activities.
• Collaborate with Product and partners to align with priorities and timelines.
• Support dealer integrations and ensure high-availability production systems.
• Contribute to hiring, mentoring, and team culture.
