Job summary

DraftKings in Boston is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to guide a small engineering team, owning technical design and key decisions from concept to production. You will stay hands-on, contribute to implementation, code reviews, and troubleshoot complex problems while building AI-powered customer-facing solutions.

You’ll design scalable services with C#/.NET and AWS, work across back-end, AI integration, and platform layers, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product and partner

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
7+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong hands-on C#/.NET.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS and delivering scalable production solutions in the cloud.
Experience leading engineers and owning technical direction while staying involved in implementation.
Experience in large, distributed environments where cloud services and internal/external systems must operate reliably together.
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude and Codex.
Interest in AI agents, MCP tools, and Context Engineering.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

Lead the technical design and delivery of customer-facing applications and AI solutions from concept to production.
Stay hands-on in engineering, contribute to implementation, code reviews, and troubleshooting.
Build and customize AI agents, context, MCP servers/tools, and integrations.
Design and build scalable services using C#/.NET and AWS.
Collaborate across back-end, AI integration, and platform layers with internal/external partners.
Mentor engineers and drive technical direction and delivery.
