Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer on the Engineering Services & Platforms (ESP) team within the CTO to drive reliable, scalable technology platforms in regulated environments. You will lead cross-functional streams spanning frontend, backend, API design, data, and AI integration while improving SDLC efficiency and developer experience.

You will mentor engineers, implement CI/CD and secure coding practices, and shape governance across the software lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
• Hands-on experience building full stack applications using Java and React (or Angular), with Spring/Spring Boot microservices and REST APIs
• Proficiency across the full software development lifecycle with documentation and traceability
• Experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Experience with Kafka or REST API Messaging Services
• Experience implementing automation and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience leading the use of AI-assisted software development tools with governance
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across frontend, backend, API, database, and AI integration workstreams
• Develops secure and high-quality production code and reviews code
• Build platforms that support software delivery and production-release processes across large enterprises
• Create secure, scalable, auditable, and resilient engineering ecosystems
• Strengthen TRC frameworks by translating policy into engineering capabilities
• Modernize SDLC controls, automate risk detection, and embed compliance into developer workflows
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices and measurable validation standards
• Apply knowledge of SDLC toolchain to improve automation value at scale
• Influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations
• Contribute to the engineering community with firmwide SDLC frameworks and practices
