Job summary

FIS is hiring a Senior Lead Network Engineer to shape telecom strategy, including global backbone, topology, and cost optimization. You will mentor engineers, drive technical rigor, and lead complex provisioning and design efforts across layers 1–3 and modern transport architectures.

You will work with Data/Voice Engineering, Infrastructure Architecture, Product, Security, Finance, and Data Center Ops to scope and execute large-scale initiatives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience leading or providing senior-level support to a network provisioning or circuit engineering team.
• 10+ years of Network Engineering experience (or equivalent via work experience, training, or education).
• 10+ years of experience with telecom carriers, escalations, and service delivery management.
• Experience with modern transport technologies including carrier Ethernet, optical wavelength services, and backbone connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Network Circuit Engineering team members across circuit design, carrier selection, ordering, provisioning, implementation, carrier escalations, and inventory accuracy.
• Provide technical leadership for large scale network initiatives with complex Layer 1 transport diversity, resiliency, and route analysis.
• Design and support modern transport solutions including high-capacity optical services and 100G wavelengths.
• Support SD-WAN and hybrid WAN architectures, including MPLS, carrier Ethernet, internet underlay, and secure cloud connectivity.
• Design and implement connectivity for cloud and interconnection services including colocation environments and cloud on-ramps.
• Lead deployment and support of wireless and satellite-based connectivity solutions.
• Own carrier escalations and service delivery risk management to meet timelines and resiliency objectives.
• Partner with Supply Chain on RFPs, contract discussions, vendor strategy, and financial analysis.
• Drive legacy technology decommissioning and migration to modern transport architectures.
• Ensure accurate documentation and design artifacts across systems.
