The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in building mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection), strong leadership, and client‑facing skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in mechanical engineering, preferably in an A/E consulting firm.
• Strong background in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
• Experience leading engineering teams and managing multiple projects.
• Experience overseeing budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
• Strong client-facing communication and relationship-building.
• PE license preferred, ideally in North Carolina.
• Onsite work primarily in Charlotte with occasional remote flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a mechanical engineering team consisting of three junior/mid-level engineers and an experienced remote engineer.
• Manage projects from concept through construction administration, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
• Oversee schedules, budgets, deliverables, and financial performance while ensuring quality and client satisfaction.
• Serve as primary client contact, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and maintaining relationships.
• Support office operations, proposals, business development, and growth of the Charlotte team.
