Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Lead Mechanical - Buildings in our San Francisco, CA office. The role focuses on designing HVAC, air distribution, and energy systems for healthcare, commercial, and industrial facilities, with opportunities to mentor junior engineers and coordinate with clients.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, 7+ years of experience, PE eligibility, and strong Revit/AutoCAD skills to support multi-disciplinary design efforts and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on building systems.
• Experience designing mechanical systems for high-performing facilities (commercial/industrial/healthcare).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit and industry codes (ASHRAE, NFPA).
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or eligible is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead mechanical design for HVAC, hydronic, and controls systems in buildings.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, architects, contractors, and owners.
• Develop drawings and specifications for issuance and construction.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure quality of mechanical design deliverables.
• Review and oversee equipment selection and scheduling, survey existing conditions, and participate in project proposals.
