Job summary

Exyte in the United States is seeking a Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer to supervise and contribute to the design of HVAC, plumbing, and controls for high-technology facilities, including cleanrooms and manufacturing spaces.

You will develop calculations, lead deliverables, mentor staff, coordinate with project teams, and ensure design quality and compliance with industry codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering for facilities.
• Thorough knowledge of codes and industry standards in design of industrial facilities.
• Experience with Autodesk Building Systems Software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical engineering calculations for HVAC systems including heat load, duct sizing, and hydraulics.
• Plan and schedule discipline deliverables and supervise staff on projects.
• Develop manpower and cost estimates for projects and monitor budgets.
• Coordinate with project teams and other disciplines to ensure integrated designs.
• Mentor and train junior staff and contribute to continuous improvement.

The Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer participates in a team environment consisting of engineers and designers to produce construction documents for the following systems: HVAC wet/dry, plumbing, controls and the like.

Explore Your Tasks And Responsibilities

• Performs engineering tasks for the design of utilities and HVAC (wet/dry) systems for high technology facilities including cleanrooms, general manufacturing/process facilities and institutional facilities
• Prepares mechanical engineering calculations in support of HVAC systems design including heat load calculations, duct sizing, chilled water hydraulics, static pressure calculations, equipment sizing and selection
• Plans and schedules discipline deliverables and activities including man-hour estimation, assigning personnel, and supervision of discipline personnel on the Projects
• Develops manpower and labor cost requirements for a project and monitor them to aid in evaluating project schedule and budget
• Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff’s specific area of expertise
• Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by discipline team
• Develops of conceptual design, preliminary design and final design documents which would include calculations related to sizing and selecting of these systems, the development of Process and Instrumentation
• Diagrams, general arrangements and sequences of operation associated with these systems
• Works closely in coordination with the project team and other disciplines as well as other design offices
• Coordinates with disciplines in the preparation and development of the deliverables and ensuring those other disciplines’ inputs are incorporated
• Works to build and maintain positive and productive working relationships both internal and external
• Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
• Other duties as assigned

• Professional Engineer (PE) License required
• Nation Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Record preferred
• 10+ years of experience
