Job summary

We Search People is seeking an experienced Lead Maintenance Technician in Lexington, MA, on-site, to perform hands-on maintenance across apartments and common areas. The role requires independent work, complex repairs, and mentoring junior technicians.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in building trades, strong customer service, and the ability to handle on-call/weekend rotations. A valid driver’s license and physical ability to move up to 50 lbs are expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ advanced maintenance across three or more building trades.
• Multifamily, property management or hospitality maintenance experience preferred.
• Confident troubleshooting HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances and general building repairs.
• REAC/HQS, HUD or affordable-housing experience is a bonus.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs; comfortable working outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Complete repairs across apartments, common areas and grounds, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, painting and general maintenance.
• Respond promptly to resident service requests, emergency calls and on-call issues, delivering a professional customer experience.
• Complete apartment turns and prepare vacant units for new resident move-ins.
• Support preventative maintenance, vendor coordination, inventory control and upkeep of the maintenance shop.
• Prepare properties for REAC/HQS inspections and complete follow-up repairs.
• Mentor Maintenance Technicians I and II and support contractor management.
