Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Columbus, OH, seeks a Senior Lead Infrastructure Engineer to own and advance enterprise batch scheduling across CA-7, Control-M and ZEKE. You will design standards, write automation in REXX/Python, and drive modernization with AI-assisted approaches while ensuring compliance and auditability.

You will mentor teams, translate complex issues into actionable guidance, and collaborate across cloud and on-premise platforms to strengthen resiliency and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in mainframe systems programming and/or operations engineering.
• Hands-on expertise with CA-7, Control-M, and ZEKE.
• Strong coding/scripting in REXX and/or Python with automation deliverables.
• Troubleshooting batch execution lifecycle (JCL, datasets, spaces, dependencies).
• Knowledge of JCL, JES, catalogs/datasets, SMP/E and operational controls.
• Experience with change management, incident/problem management, and on-call in regulated environments.
• Excellent communication to translate technical issues into guidance.
• Ability to review AI-assisted recommendations and ensure resiliency and security.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and support enterprise batch scheduling platforms including calendars, workload definitions, dependencies, SLA management, and automation.
• Design and implement batch workload standards, governance, and operational controls.
• Build automation using REXX and/or Python to streamline operations.
• Diagnose and resolve batch failures, performance bottlenecks, and scheduling conflicts; perform root-cause analysis.
• Integrate scheduling and automation with enterprise tooling (monitoring/alerting, ticketing, change management, audit evidence).
• Drive mainframe modernization initiatives, including API enablement, workflow standardization, and automation-first operating practices.
• Apply AI-assisted approaches to improve productivity and reliability with validated outputs.
• Create and maintain documentation: procedures, automation code, runbooks, architectural diagrams, and knowledge base articles.
