Job summary

Saint Martin’s University in Lacey, WA seeks an Assistant Director of Financial Aid Processing to support the Director in processing federal aid, disbursements, and outside scholarships. The role leads endowed scholarship awarding and ensures timely, compliant aid processing for students.

Ideal candidates will counsel families on aid eligibility, work with the Finance and Student Services teams, and uphold our Benedictine values in service to the campus community.

Qualifications

• Must possess a bachelor’s degree or higher.
• At least two years of progressive experience in financial aid administration.
• Successfully pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Originate, update, and disburse federal Pell grants and Direct Loans with the Department of Education.
• Troubleshoot and resolve rejects on federal aid within the COD system.
• Supports Director in weekly disbursement of federal, state, and institutional aid, as needed.
• Coordinates and manages the endowed scholarship application and awarding process, including fund updates/creation, application setup and maintenance, review of applications, and awarding of scholarships, annually.
• Regularly counsels students and families regarding financial aid eligibility and awarding.
