Job summary

Teck Resources Limited seeks a Senior Lead, Environment to drive closure, reclamation, and long-term stewardship at Pend Oreille Mine. You’ll provide strategic leadership for environmental management, regulatory compliance, permitting, and stakeholder engagement to secure safe, compliant closure outcomes.

The role requires leading teams, managing budgets, and partnering with regulators, Indigenous Nations, and communities to integrate environmental and closure requirements into site planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resource Management, Hydrogeology, or related field.
• 12+ years in environmental management, regulatory compliance, or closure.
• Experience with Washington/state regulations and mine closure requirements.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and engaging regulators and communities.
• Professional designation (P.Eng., P.Geo., P.Ag., etc.) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and continuous improvement of environmental, regulatory, and permitting strategies.
• Oversee environmental management programs to ensure compliance with permits and standards.
• Lead engagement with regulatory bodies and coordinate reporting, inspections, and audits.
• Identify risks and opportunities, develop mitigation strategies, and support decisions.
• Provide strategic oversight of budgets, contracts, and technical studies for closure and stewardship.
