Job summary

Allegion is seeking a Senior Lead Engineer, Advanced Development to guide a cross-functional team focused on wireless hardware and firmware for secure access control systems. You will lead development from concept through validation, driving advanced localization, secure communication, and low-power designs.

You will collaborate with product, engineering, and security experts to ensure industry-leading performance, scalable architecture, and rigorous real-world testing within a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 10+ years in wireless/RF development with UWB, Wi-Fi, radar, or secure communications.
• Proven leadership of high-performing technical teams.
• Expertise in RF hardware design, signal processing, embedded firmware and security protocols.
• Experience with regulatory compliance, standards development, and industry engagement (FCC, IEEE, CSA, FiRa).
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement R&D or technology innovation programs.
• Excellent communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Basic knowledge of C, C++, and Python programming languages.
• In office collaboration 4 days a week on average.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Allegion’s wireless technology program.
• Team Building & Talent Development: Lead hardware/firmware engineers, RF specialists, and security experts; mentor teams.
• Technical Oversight: Guide wireless hardware/firmware design, antennas, low-power architectures, secure protocols.
• Algorithm Innovation: Oversee localization, sensor fusion, and tool development projects.
• Data Management & Analysis: Build data pipelines to collect and analyze sensor data for algorithm improvement.
• Standards & Compliance: Ensure compliance with wireless standards and engage with standards bodies.
• Testing & Validation: Create robust testing frameworks and real-world validation.
• Infrastructure Development: Support wireless lab setup for simulations and validation.
• Continuous Improvement: Foster knowledge sharing and market-aligned innovation.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Align wireless solutions with product and business needs.
