Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking a senior technologist to define and build a next-generation electronic trading platform. You will lead architecture, design, and delivery of low-latency trading systems, working with business stakeholders and senior leaders in a global financial institution.

The role focuses on architecture, performance optimization, and building scalable microservices in a hybrid NYC-area environment. Strong Java and market-data expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience building low-latency distributed systems.
• Background developing electronic trading or algorithmic trading platforms.
• Experience with FIX and market data-driven systems.
• Experience designing and scaling microservices architectures.
• Ability to work with business stakeholders and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and development of high-performance, low-latency trading systems.
• Design and build execution infrastructure, trading services, and algorithmic trading capabilities.
• Develop and optimize distributed Java applications using microservices.
• Partner with quantitative researchers, product leaders, and senior technology stakeholders.
• Drive engineering best practices across design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Mentor engineers and influence the technical direction of the platform.
