Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Staff Lead Engineer for Interior Lighting in Warren, MI. You will provide senior technical leadership across ambient, functional, accent, and illuminated interior lighting systems, coordinating mechanical, electrical, optics, software, and validation efforts.

You will mentor Interior Lighting DREs, drive structured problem solving, and guide program execution with DFSS and BOM/technology strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Optical, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in automotive product development or lighting interiors.
• Experience with optics, plastics, light pipes, lenses, materials, electronics, and software.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to Interior Lighting teams and cross-functional partners.
• Lead complex issue resolution across optics, mechanical, electronics, and software.
• Drive lighting product launch execution and quality through governance reviews.
