Job summary

G-TECH Services LLC seeks a Design Release Engineer for exterior lighting systems in Dearborn, MI. Lead design and release activities for headlamps, taillamps, CHMSL, fog lamps, and license plate lamps across programs.

You will collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams; utilize CATIA V5, 3DX, and Teamcenter for CAD modeling; perform GD&T, DFMEA, DVP&R, and 8D problem solving to ensure robust design through production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in automotive lighting design, development, or release engineering.
• Experience with CATIA, Teamcenter, and CAD modeling.
• Knowledge of optical engineering, injection molding, and manufacturing processes.
• Hands-on laboratory testing and troubleshooting experience.
• Strong problem-solving, GD&T, and product development experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and release activities for exterior lighting components.
• Develop and review lighting CAD models using CATIA V5, 3DX, and Teamcenter.
• Perform optical engineering and design-for-manufacturing activities.
• Conduct GD&T reviews, packaging studies, and design validation.
• Create DFMEA, DVP&R, SCCAF, Boundary Diagrams, and P-Diagrams.
• Perform root cause analysis using 8D and 5 Why methodologies.
• Collaborate with suppliers, purchasing, manufacturing, and cross‑functional teams.
• Support sourcing, testing, launch, and production activities.
