Job summary

Optimized Process Designs (OPD), a Koch Engineered Solutions company, seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to own HV/MV power infrastructure and substation projects on EPC contracts.

The role drives design decisions balancing safety, reliability, cost and schedule, and supports project execution from concept through energization while mentoring others and interfacing with clients and utilities.

Travel up to 15% to project sites across North America as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Utility/EPC substation experience preferred.
• Experience in substation physical design and protection & control engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering scope on EPC projects from concept through startup.
• Balance safety, reliability, constructability, operability, cost and schedule objectives.
• Mentor engineers and designers across disciplines and provide technical guidance.
• Resolve complex issues with sound engineering judgment to enable project execution.
• Interface with clients, utilities, vendors, and construction teams throughout development and execution.
