Job summary

Optimized Process Designs (OPD) seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to oversee electrical engineering for HV/MV power infrastructure and substations under lump-sum EPC contracts. You will own design from concept to energization, guiding safety, reliability, cost, and schedule while supporting OPD’s execution excellence.

OPD is an EPC firm within Koch Engineered Solutions, delivering detailed engineering and single-point procurement across North America. Extensive travel up to 15% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with utility interconnections and substation engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering scope on EPC projects from concept through startup.
• Balance safety, reliability, constructability, cost, and schedule in design decisions.
• Provide mentorship across disciplines and collaborate with clients, utilities, and vendors.
• Develop and review deliverables including one-line diagrams, schematics, and layouts.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure design readiness for construction.
